Preparing for high altitude climbs: Kilimanjaro
Mount Kilimanjaro, which has the reputation for being the easiest high mountain to climb, is often underestimated. Although Kilimanjaro does not involve technical climbing, the summit is 5895 meters (19,340 feet), making the climb a dangerous undertaking for the unprepared. Duma has prepared a detailed document on preparing for high altitude treks that every climber should read before deciding on whether or not to attempt Kilimanjaro. Please visit our high altitude information at http://www.dumaexplorer.com/itineraries/altitudesickness.shtml. Duma has several upcoming Kilimanjaro trips, so email us for details and itineraries.
