Nane Nane holiday

Today is the national holiday Nane Nane, or August 8, in Tanzania. Nane Nane, created to recognize Tanzanian farmers, is one of the most important holidays of the year. The holiday is celebrated all over the country through agricultural festivals which highlight local farming groups and technologies. In Arusha, there is a ten day festival from August 1-10 at the Nane Nane fairgrounds in Njiro.
