Tanzanian citizens lined up at polling stations today for the country's national elections. The long voting lines began at 6am today and will run through 4pm. Today's elections were rescheduled from October after a senior opposition party candidate died of natural causes.
Although the ruling party, CCM, is virtually assured victory in the presidential election, it is likely that opposition parties will win local elections in several of Tanzania's 26 regions.
